Hand-Dyed Silk Scarf – Natural Cochineal Pink with Batik Cactus Design, Desert-Inspired, 100% Silk

Drift through the day wrapped in the warm hues of the desert. This one-of-a-kind silk scarf is hand-dyed with cochineal, a natural dye made from insects that thrive on prickly pear cacti. Each scarf is infused with pinks and soft crimsons that echo Tucson’s glowing sunsets.

Using the Batik technique and melted beeswax, I hand-drew a prickly pear cactus design onto the silk, creating a soft, textured pattern that resists the dye and reveals the desert’s charm. The result? A lightweight, flowing scarf with a luminous sheen—perfect for adding a splash of nature-made color to any outfit.
